Sorry I have not been able to blog my first week. So far what has happened in my book was that a man had gone into debt. He tries to get out of it by selling slaves off. Uncle tom was a favorite slave out of a lot of them. No one wanted to see him go.

I was so surprised that George, a boy in the book, was so attached to Uncle Tom. I was amazed that a boy could love  a slave so much. I laughed when i heard the things he said though.  THe anger was hilarious especially how he said that "I'll knock him out, I swear I will". I laughed for a long time. Although I was also very sad at how he had to leave his kid and his wife. There were lots of mixed emotions.

The author of Uncle Tom's Cabin is Harriet Beecher Stowe. She was a very special woman. She wrote many books about anti slavery. She was also acted in the anti slavery acts to help free the slaves. Uncle Tom's Cabin is only one of her great works.
